Job Search Secret #2:
Because of the first rule of job hunting the second rule is brutal but very necessary to understand and accept.
The second rule is that because people hire people they already know (rule #1), the GOOD jobs go to the good (or at least “known”) people before the general public ever knows about these openings…if, indeed, they ever know about them.
Let that sink in.
By the time you see something on Monster and/or Career Builder and the like; by the time you view something posted in a newspaper (the few that are still in print)…the job is going to someone who is ALREADY a KNOWN QUANTITY by the employer.
So you are really WASTING your valuable job search time relying on any public source of job listings.
